A GOOD AND RARE PATTERN 1853 FIRST TYPE YATAGHAN ARTILLERY SWORD BAYONET,
mid to late 1850s, with 23in. single-edged steel blade fullered on each side, forte with Birmingham inspection mark, blade back marked 'REEVES & Co', cross-guard with upturned quillion and stamped 'IB39I', brass hilt with bird's-head pommel, together with its steel scabbard and associated brown leather frog, blade heavily polished, scabbard with some blinded pitting to the back, frog 20th Century with spurious markings
